The takeoff point of San Giacomo, above the village of Andrate, is a terrace over the Ivrea Morainic Amphitheatre (IMA) and on clear days you can even see the most hidden corners of it. Away from the most frequented trails, San Giacomo is an oasis of tranquillity frequented mainly by song birds, wild animals and delta pilots and paragliders. The takeoff point is well suited for both gliders and paragliders, it has been used for over thirty five years for this activity and can be considered one of the historical take-off points for Italian Free Flight.
